Big Bear Lake for Memorial Day weekend!

Life has been busy at the Wheeler house. I am so glad this is my last week of school, and I get a little time off before starting my Summer classes - 2 weeks! :) I have been bad about updating my blog because honestly with all the papers I have to write for classes, I just don't have the energy to sit down and write on here...it's so sad considering I love my blog! Anyway I did want to post some pictures of our Memorial Day weekend. We had a blast. A bunch of family and friends all rented a cabin at Big Bear Lake. We had a great time! We all decided to go for Holly's birthday and I'm so glad we did! It was such a great way to relax for the 3 days. My Brother in Law has a boat and he took it up there, so we truly enjoyed ourselves! Anyway I hope you all had a great weekend! We miss you all so much! xo

Happy Birthday bro! :)

This weekend was John's brothers birthday, and his wife Adriene invited us to join them on a limo trip to dinner. I was SO excited! I haven't rode in a limo since prom, and we won't mention how long ago that was! haha
Anyway I am looking forward to this being the last month of my semester at school, and to the couple weeks off before I go back for summer school. Everything is going great. The weather here has been awesome! We hope all is well on your end. Miss you all!

Here are Mike's birthday pictures! :)

13 years and counting...

We had a nice weekend just the two of us. The past few weekends we have been busy with friends, so we were looking forward to being by ourselves. It is our anniversary today - 13 years! I can not believe how fast time flies! But I look at John and see the man I want right beside me when I'm 90. He is my very best friend, and we both lean on each other for everything. I love you John - here's to another 13+ years! :)
Saturday night we decided to go out and celebrate since during the week is too hard. We went to see a movie (Obsessed - SOOO good!) and to sushi. It was so simple but a lot of fun!
The rest of the weekend was spent doing the fun chores around the house. It was a nice weekend - 70 degree spring weather! I pulled some weeds on Saturday morning and cleaned house on Sunday. We took the dogs on a walk in the afternoon and then headed for the spa. So it was a nice and relaxing weekend. I feel refreshed for this week.
On a side note...we found out that the spot on my Dad's liver turned out to be cancer. So please keep him in your prayers. He has another Doctor's appt in June and we'll know if it's something he can remove or not.

I hope you all have a good week!

Serenity

One of my most favorite memories growing up is playing in my Grandma's back yard. It's so beautiful and relaxing. This past week John and I went over for lunch and afterwards we all sat outside and talked. My Grandma works so hard on her back yard with her flowers and trees, and it was so pretty that I had to take a few pictures.

A day at the pool

Holly, Jason, Shane, and Jenna came over to our community pool to spend the day in the sun. It was in the 80's and hot! I got burnt, but mostly in spots that haven't seen sun since last summer...overall it was a fun day! :)

Spring Break...

I'm so glad it's vacation time for us. We both have a week off and loving the fact that we don't have to do anything...well not so much me, I have a research paper due April 21st and I'm starting it while I'm off.
Saturday was our first day of vacation, so we decided to start on the back yard. We went to Lowes and bought a few plants, a bird bath, and lots and lots of river rocks (30 bags to be exact). We are also trying to nurse our grass back to health...my dog's pee is killing the grass! So we had to also get some lyme and fertilizer. You should see me - I'm like a mad woman, everytime she goes pee I hurry behind her with the hose to water it down! LOL
We have a couple more things we have to do with the back yard, so I'll post as we do it. We're pricing out trees at the moment - we really want a Japanese cherry blossom tree - the ones that have the pretty pink flowers. :)
Other than that things have been going well and we're both fine. There isn't much to report - we've both been busy with work, school, and the never ending chores around the house. We're both happy for the chance to sit and relax a bit for a week. Hope all is well with everyone! xoxo

I had to throw one in of cutie pie Jenna too! :)
